Town Street Renewal Program
Curry Project Management oversaw the Town Street Renewal Program, a project aimed at renewing and upgrading 10 town streets to improve road infrastructure and safety. The project involved removing unsuitable materials, reshaping and re-aligning streets within the road corridor, and applying cement stabilisation and bitumen sealing. CPM was responsible for managing the design process, handling the procurement of the Principal Contract through a tender process, and acting as the superintendent on the project.
Key areas of responsibility included:
- Overseeing the renewal of 10 town streets, ensuring improved road conditions and alignment.
- Managing the removal of unsuitable materials to prepare the streets for reconstruction.
- Coordinating the reshaping and re-aligning of streets to meet updated road design standards.
- Supervising the cement stabilisation of the road base and ensuring proper bitumen sealing for durability and long-term use.
Specific Responsibilities Under the Contract
The project management team was tasked with:
- Managing the entire process of removing unsuitable materials and preparing the streets for reconstruction, including cement stabilisation and bitumen sealing to enhance the road’s lifespan and performance.
- Overseeing the reshaping and realignment of streets to improve traffic flow and ensure streets were positioned correctly within the road corridor.
- Ensuring that the cement stabilisation process and bitumen sealing met the required quality standards for long-term road use and safety.
Procurement, Delivery & Site Management:
CPM managed the procurement process through a transparent tendering system, selecting qualified contractors and sourcing high-quality materials. The project management team ensured the timely delivery of resources, coordinated with suppliers, and maintained budget adherence. On-site, CPM oversaw daily operations, monitored contractor performance, enforced safety protocols, and managed project timelines. This rigorous approach minimised delays and maintained project efficiency from start to finish.
Submissions & Compliance:
CPM ensured that all necessary submissions adhered to local and industry standards. This included preparing and submitting design plans, reports, and other documentation required for regulatory approval. The project management team coordinated with local councils and regulatory bodies to secure permits, align with environmental and planning guidelines, and adhere to submission timelines. Compliance checks were conducted regularly to ensure all phases met safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Contractor Coordination
The project management team ensured that the contractor:
- Removed unsuitable materials from all 10 streets and carried out preparatory work for reconstruction.
- Reshaped and re-aligned the streets in accordance with the approved design plans to improve alignment within the existing road corridor.
- Completed the cement stabilisation process, followed by bitumen sealing, ensuring proper adherence to specifications.
- Managed on-site personnel and subcontractors to ensure all works were completed within the project timeline and to the required standards.
As-Built Construction Data
CPM ensured that accurate as-built records were maintained throughout the Town Street Renewal Program, documenting the removal, reshaping, stabilisation, and sealing processes for each street. These records were submitted electronically to the Principal to ensure compliance with contract requirements and funding guidelines.
CPM’s oversight ensured the timely and successful completion of the program, delivering renewed and enhanced streets that will serve the community for years to come.
